Mayetta Ross, 87, of Providence, RI went home to be with our heavenly father on March 25, 2024. Mayetta attended primary and secondary schools in her hometown of Cheraw, SC. While in Cheraw, she was a member of the choir at PD Baptist Church and loved to sing. Mayetta moved to and settled in Rhode Island at a young age. She served as pastor of True Holiness Church of God in Christ for over 20 years and welcomed all who came. She was a lover of music, singing, playing the bass drum, and serving God. Her love for Jesus Christ, the joy in her heart and her love for those around her shined bright for all to see.
Mayetta was the loving mother of 10 children, 1 daughter Carry Becham, and 9 sons, Prince Reid, Arthur Ellerbe, James Ellerbe, Tommie Beecham, Willie Beecham, Henry Beecham, Norman Beecham, Alex Beecham, and Donald Beecham. She has 1 sister, Julia "Sarah" Elizabeth Francis and is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Ross, 2 sisters Mayfair Reid, and Hattie Reid, and 5 brothers, William "Bill" Reid, Junior Reid, James Reid, Richard Reid, and Roosevelt Reid. Ms. Ross also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her brothers and sisters in Christ who all love her dearly.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 1st from 10:00am - 11:00am, followed by funeral services from 11:00am - 12:30pm at Greater Love Outreach Ministries, formerly known as, Holy Cross C.O.G.I.C, 1014 Broad Street, Providence, RI 02905. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, 5 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI 02904. Repast will be held at 148 Pavillion Bar and Lounge, located at 148 Pavillion Avenue, Providence, RI 02905.
